The New Sage 300c, What Does That “c” Stand For?

Sage continues to impress us with their drive to stay up to date and fresh with their products.  We are excited about the new features of Sage 300c, but we are still guessing what that “c” will stand for.  Sage has not settled on that yet, but the choices are “connected”, “collaborate”, and “complete."  As we reviewed the product, we thought that they all fit in quite nicely. They may or may not be able to select a single meaning for the “c”, but we love the three main additions they have added to Sage 300 to make it even better than the original.

Three Main Additions to Sage 300c

  1. Subscription Based Pricing

Sage values their customers and strives to give them the best product for the best price possible.  That’s why new subscription based pricing is a great addition to Sage 300c. It’s great to be able to pick the way you pay and Sage has introduced subscription based pricing with version “c” that will allow you to pick from a variety of payment options including monthly, yearly, or every three years. The monthly option is a great choice for companies who don’t want to purchase the software licensing up front or on an annual or multi-year agreement.  It will reduce the initial cash investment for new clients. It can also eliminate the once a year lump sum maintenance renewal fee for existing clients. Current customers can switch their current license to a subscription-based license. This can be easier on cash flow depending on your user count, modules used, and other factors.

  1. Going Mobile

Another change from the original Sage 300 product is that Sage 300c features a totally new and modernized user interface using HTML5 based web screens. The new interface is also designed around mobile technology so you get a more modern Sage 300 experience across all of your devices.  You can access it from your desktop or laptop, using all the standard browsers, including Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox, to your mobile phone (Apple and Android) or tablet. Being able to “go mobile” is a fantastic addition that will allow companies to thrive, no matter what time of the day it is or where they are.

  1. Bundled Modules

One of the features that jumped out at us was the way the product is bundled into three prepackaged options. This allows your business to chose the best fit for your company. The bundles include Essentials, Advanced, and Complete. The Essentials bundle is the base bundle. It includes core financial functionality like GL, AP, and AR. The Advanced, or mid-level, bundle adds sales, purchasing, and inventory along with everything from the Essentials bundle. The Complete bundle is exactly as it sounds, the complete package.  It offers everything in Essentials and Advanced plus project job cost, multicurrency, intercompany, and GL Consolidation. With these three options to choose from, there is no reason you can’t find the perfect fit for your companies needs.

To sum it all up, Sage has shown their continued investment in modernizing Sage 300. The new Sage 300c allows you to use the new features to improve productivity and grow revenue. At the same time, you will have the full flexibility to choose the licensing model that fits best into your business plan. You will have the new features along with all of the old ones that you loved. It’s a win-win in our opinion.
