Business Reporting - Crystal Reports Tidbit: Fixing Printing Problems

Posted by Robert Baran on Mon, Jun 20, 2011 @ 04:57 PM

Business Reporting Challenge Fix: If your crystal report's printer settings are not working like they should, try opening up the report in the Crystal Report Designer and set the report to use "No Printer" under the printer settings and save the changes.  Then go to your PC's control panel (on the computer you want to run the report from).  Make sure you have selected the printer with the settings you want to use as the default printer.  Run the report, and you should get exactly what you are looking for.

Why does this work?  When a Crystal Report runs that has "No Printer" selected in the report, your PC's default printer is what it uses for the page formatting and settings.
