DuPage Airport Authority’s Accounting Processes Soar with the Help of PositiveVision and Sage 300 ERP
Operating as one of the nation’s busiest general aviation airports, DuPage Airport serves several notable corporations for their aviation needs. In addition to managing the DuPage Airport in West Chicago, DuPage Airport Authority owns and operates two other adjoining businesses on the property, the Prairie Landing Golf Club and the DuPage Business Center.
External Reporting and Manual Processes Lead to a Stalled System
After operating on Sage PFW for years, DuPage realized that they had outgrown their accounting system and needed to upgrade to a more robust solution. They wanted to streamline their processes, establish better workflows, and track financial aspects of three separate businesses.
PositiveVision Assesses DuPage’s Flight Risk
The first step was to find a solution and software provider capable of bringing the company’s goals and desires to life. After looking at several software providers and solutions, DuPage decided to stay with PositiveVision, who was already servicing existing products for the company at the time.
“Ultimately, we chose Positive Vision because we had a history with them,” recalls Hoard. “They knew the products we were currently using, and we had hopes that this would make the transition easier than going with a new vendor altogether. We also knew Bob [and the team] at PositiveVision would come up with the appropriate Sage product for our needs.”
PositiveVision Launches a Capable Accounting System
Once Sage 300 ERP was implemented, DuPage Airport Authority saw immediate results. The new automated processes resulted in significant time-savings. “We are now able to accomplish more work with the same amount of people,” states Hoard. “Sage 300 ERP has increased the overall skill set of the accounting team and has allowed us to elevate the analysis we are currently doing.”
Additionally, with the help of DocLink and Sage 300 ERP, DuPage was able to implement workflows to automate the procurement process. This not only helped ensure procurements were approved before being purchased, but it also helped the company reduce paper waste since everything was done electronically.
“PositiveVision is responsive and attentive to our needs,” states Hoard. “If we have an issue, they get back to us quickly. They are easy to do business with, and they have a good knowledge of their products. The team is personable, and I know that if there is a big issue or emergency, they will dedicate their resources to help us get through the challenge. Overall, they’ve provided a good level of service for our company.”
