Sage 300 continues to evolve, and we’re excited to see what the company has rolled out this year. The 2026 release offers enhancements across financial modules, web screens, integrations, and system management. Building on the modernization introduced in earlier versions, Sage 300 2026 focuses on usability, data accessibility, and smoother cross‑product integration, especially with Sage HR and Sage Intelligence.
We’ve chosen just a few updates to highlight, plus some important notes if you’re updating from an earlier version. If you’d like to see the full release notes, or refer to prior years, please visit the Sage 300 document center.
General Updates for Sage 300
Sage releases new features at regular intervals, typically January and September, but they also make tweaks throughout the year at other times, too. Updates to Sage 300 this year include the following highlights.
General Ledger Warning
The general ledger now displays a warning when you try to reverse a subledger batch. This prevents potential reconciliation discrepancies when you try to reconcile the GL and associated subledgers.
New Web Screens for Project Job Costing
This year’s product update included numerous useful features. There are new web screens for the project job costing (PJC) setup. Additional PJC web screen updates include contract structures, segment codes, and miscellaneous expenses, options fields, projects, overhead expenses, subcontractors, and charges.
Bank Web Screen Updates
Earlier this year, Sage 300 rolled out enhancements to the Bank screens. These now include bank transaction history inquiries and bank reverse transactions. The latest release (Product Update 2) now includes support for OFX version 2.x (XML‑based) statement files.
Accounts Receivable and Payable Updates
Sage has also made updates to both Accounts Receivable and Payable. You can now search by customer name in the Accounts Receivable invoice entry finder. Payables has the same new feature; you can now search by vendor name. Both make it much easier to find the information you’re looking for when searching Sage 300.
Important Things to Note When Completing Updates
There are two important items to note when completing updates from earlier versions.
Upgrading Sage 300 from 2023 or 2024
Sage notes that upgrading from any version prior to 2025 may cause discrepancies and glitches. This is especially true in Sage 300 Web Screens. Any update, with or without the Payroll Web Screen Upgrade, can cause this error. You have to manually uninstall the previous version of Payroll Web Screens and install the 2026 version.
Payroll Web Screens Upgrade
This is a special note for Payroll Web Screen users. If you’re using Payroll Web Screens and upgrading Sage 300 from the 2023 or 2024 versions, you’ll need to reinstall the latest Payroll Tax Update with the Payroll Web Screens option checked off. If you don’t do this, you may see an error, or the Payroll Web Screen will be hidden. Reinstalling with the proper item checked off fixes this error.
