A recent economic summit held in late September in Illinois identified collaboration as one essential key for future economic growth in Illinois’ manufacturing future. Collaboration is all about working together to further produce and create in cooperation.

The summit featured a panel of manufacturing and economic development representatives. It focused on how to foster economic collaboration and bolster manufacturing to grow the economy of Illinois using its unique assets to fulfill that potential. In what was referred to as a “marketplace of ideas,” leaders came together to discuss ideas for strengthening the manufacturing base and call attention to the need for more skilled workers to fill jobs that are available in the region.
